Meet Casey
Older Children & Adolescents | Anxiety | School Challenges | Emotional Development
Growing up isn't always easy, and parenting through those years can be just as challenging. Between academic expectations, changing friendships, family relationships, and the process of developing their own identities, children and teenagers experience an incredible amount of growth in a relatively short period of time. Sometimes those challenges are manageable, and sometimes they begin to affect a young person's confidence, relationships, or emotional well-being.
Casey understands that children and teens don't always have the words to explain what they're experiencing. Parents may notice increased frustration, withdrawal, anxiety, or changes in behavior without fully understanding what's happening beneath the surface. Even when everyone has the best intentions, communication can become difficult, leaving families wondering how to help.
Casey works primarily with adolescents and has expanded her work to include older children who demonstrate the readiness and engagement needed to benefit from virtual therapy. She recognizes that chronological age doesn't always tell the whole story. A child's ability to participate, communicate, and connect through a virtual setting is an important part of determining whether her approach will be a good fit.
Her collaborative style encourages young people to become active participants in their own growth. Rather than simply telling them what they should do or how they should feel, Casey helps clients explore their experiences, recognize patterns, and develop practical coping strategies they can use in everyday life. Whether they're navigating anxiety, school-related stress, friendships, emotional regulation, or family communication, she works alongside them to build confidence and strengthen their ability to manage challenges.
Casey also understands that supporting a child or teenager often means supporting the people who care about them. When appropriate, she incorporates parent involvement to help strengthen communication, encourage understanding, and provide families with tools to better support one another. Her goal is to create opportunities for growth without placing blame or expecting everyone to have the answers.
Because every young person develops differently, Casey takes an individualized approach to determining whether virtual therapy is appropriate. For younger clients, factors such as maturity, attention, willingness to participate, and the ability to engage meaningfully through a screen are considered before moving forward.
With afternoon and evening appointment options, Casey strives to make therapy accessible for families balancing school, extracurricular activities, and everyday responsibilities.
Growing up will always come with challenges, but young people don't have to navigate them without support. Casey helps children and teens develop the emotional awareness, confidence, and practical skills they need to approach those challenges with greater understanding and resilience.
